Why I Built TRT Monitor - The Ultimate TRT Tracking App

The founder of TRT Monitor shares why he built a dedicated app to track testosterone therapy, log symptoms, visualize blood tests, and have more productive doctor conversations.

Here's the story behind why I built TRT Monitor - and why it might be what you've been looking for.

Testosterone therapy use is growing fast. One analysis found a 27% increase in men receiving TRT in 2022 compared to 2018 (PubMed). With more men starting treatment, there's a real need for better ways to track labs, symptoms, and protocols.

Like a lot of men who start TRT, my journey began with confusion. I was juggling spreadsheets, cryptic calendar reminders, and scattered lab results from different clinics. Managing my protocol quickly became a headache. It was hard to track what actually mattered: how I felt, what was working, and when to make changes.

I looked for a dedicated TRT tracking app, but nothing felt right. Most tools were either too clinical, not built for testosterone therapy specifically, or just too rigid. So I built the tool I wanted to use myself.

Built for Men Who Want Clarity

TRT Monitor is designed for men who want to take an active role in managing their therapy:

  • The Self-Manager: You handle your own protocol and need reliable tracking for injection sites, dose timings, and the details that matter.
  • The Data-Driven Patient: You want clear trends from bloodwork and symptoms so you can have better conversations with your doctor.
  • The Newcomer: You're just starting TRT and want to build good habits from day one so you actually understand how your body responds.

Thinking About TRT? The App Helps With That Too.

TRT Monitor isn't just for men already on therapy. If you're still deciding whether TRT is right for you, medical guidelines recommend tracking symptoms and getting baseline tests before starting (Mayo Clinic).

You can use the app to:

  • Track symptoms like mood, energy, libido, and sleep over time.
  • Record baseline blood tests, including total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, and estradiol.
  • See trends clearly before you commit to anything.

This kind of structured data helps answer two big questions:

  • Is TRT actually medically necessary for me? (Cleveland Clinic)
  • Do I want to go ahead with treatment?

All Your Blood Results in One Place

One of my biggest frustrations was dealing with scattered blood test results from different clinics. Different formats, different reference ranges, hard to compare. TRT Monitor gives you a single place for all of it - you can see trends, reference ranges, and historical values in one clear view.

Beyond Spreadsheets: Track Your Daily Protocol Properly

When you're self-administering TRT, the small details matter. You shouldn't have to rely on memory to remember where you injected last week or how you felt three days ago. TRT Monitor makes it straightforward:

  • Medication Doses & Injection History: Log your dose, frequency, and exact injection site (MyFitMed).
  • Daily Symptoms & Wellbeing: Quickly record energy, libido, mood, sleep, and other metrics.
  • Correlations: See how injection timing affects mood, or how dosage adjustments change your energy levels.

It's not just about collecting data. It's about being able to answer: "Is my current protocol actually working for me?"

Better Conversations with Your Doctor

TRT Monitor doesn't replace medical advice, but it makes your appointments way more useful. Instead of showing up with a messy spreadsheet or trying to remember how you felt last month, you can share clear, organised reports. Guidelines emphasise that well-organised patient data helps doctors make better treatment decisions (American Family Physician).

What's on the Roadmap

The app today is just the start. Based on what users have been asking for, here's what's coming:

  • Automated PDF/Text Report Parsing: Upload lab results and TRT Monitor will pull out your markers automatically.
  • Full Data Export: Export your data easily and privately - your records are always yours.

Built by a TRT Patient, for TRT Patients

I built TRT Monitor to be fast, private, and distraction-free. No fluff, no spam. As a developer who's also on TRT (not some big company), I can move quickly and build what users actually need.

Stop Guessing. Start Tracking.

TRT Monitor is the tool I wish I'd had when I started TRT. It gives you a clear picture of what's happening with your therapy so you can make better decisions.
